Labor & Delivery

On February 14th I woke up having what felt like menstrual cramps but didn't think much of it because they were very sporadic. So I started getting ready for the day, I had plans to decorate our room and such for George while he was at work, but than George surprised me by coming home early with flowers and a box with candy in it. (He said he just felt like he needed to be home, so he got off early) Well I had noticed the contractions becoming more regular and painful but I told Steph I still wanted to do our shopping we had planned for the day and we would see if the contractions would go away. So we left and went to Petsmart and I started timing my contractions and they were every 3-5 minutes, but I said we should keep going since I had been having them that regular for a couple weeks now (only difference was I could now feel them ;)) It was getting hard to walk but I was determined to get all my valentines shopping planned since I thought we probably wouldn't even have her until the next day. (As I said in my last post we had a scheduled induction for the morning of the 15th) We went to kinko's and printed off some pictures than went to walmart, when we got there it was getting very hard to be standing and walking around so I told Steph we needed to go. We got home and I told George we need to go to the hospital, but I wanted to shower and get ready first so if she did come I would look ok.

We got to the hospital at about 5:00pm, they checked me and I hadn't progressed (3+cm, 80%) but I was having contractions every 2 minutes. So the nurse called Heather to see if she wanted to keep me there or send me home, but came back and told me that with a lot of convincing heather said I could stay. (I mean what's the point of coming back the next morning-right?) So at about 5:50pm they admitted me.

First picture after she was cleaned up.
They started the IV and the lowest dose of Pitocin at about 6:10pm, which made my contractions more intense, and at about 6:55pm my water broke. After my water broke my contractions got extremely painful, (no joke most pain I have ever felt) so I asked for the epidural. I had to wait for the person who does them, because he was giving someone else an epi but he finally came and I got the epidural at about 7:45pm. It took about 10-20 minutes to kick in, after it did kick in the nurse was losing londyn's heartbeat on the monitor so she decided to put an internal monitor in, but when she went to put it in she discovered I was fully dilated and londyn was in position, Heather got there right in time, and decided that on my next contraction it was time to push. They told me I would do 3 push's as hard as I could during every contraction, they didn't have time to even put a catheter in so she had to empty my bladder with a straw. I pushed through 3 contractions and had to get an episiotomy and the vacuum to help her out because she was kind of stuck (Had to get the oxygen mask put on after the 2nd contraction). So a total of about 9 push's and Londyn was born at 8:32pm, weighing 6 lbs 8 oz & 18 1/2 inches long. She is absolutely perfect, and looks a lot like me ;) (At least like I looked when I was a baby).

Doctors and Hospitals.

So on January 31st I decided to go into L&D because I was dizzy/light headed and felt like I hadn't felt baby very much. They monitored me for an hour,  I was having contractions 2 minutes apart but I was still 3 cm and 80%. So they didn't admit me, but the nurse said if this wasn't my first child they probably would have admitted me and started inducing, but they can't for first time moms until 41 weeks.

I went to my doctors appointment on February 3rd, and was checked and I was still 3 to 3+ cm and 80%. We arranged for me to be induced when I get to be 39 weeks because I was not feeling my contractions and the family history with fast labors.

I went to another doctors appointment on February 9th, and I was 3+ to 4 cm and 80%. So as of right now unless she comes earlier I will be induced on February 15th. (Could have done it on the 14th, but I didn't want to make her have a valentines birthday.)

I'm so uncomfortable lately, I have a lot of pressure on my left hip bone and my skin feels like it is ripping. These stretchies are killing me-they seriously hurt. Constant itching. I swear I rub lotion on my belly like 2-3 times a day... I'm going crazy. Soooo ready to have her.

Me and George went on our Valentines date yesterday, the 10th. He took me to Gloria's little Italy in Provo, it was pretty expensive but very good. Than we went and saw the Chronicle- it was pretty good, he realllly liked it.

So hopefully my next post will be me introducing my little one!

Doctors

I had a doctors appointment yesterday, January 26, I've hit the 36 week mark so i'm starting my weekly visits. Well everything was great, baby's heartbeat is 143 and I was 3 CM dilated and 80% effaced, I was actually surprised at that. I was sure I was going to go in and be 0, but she pretty much told me not to get too excited yet, because that could last until i'm 40 weeks depending on my body and when the baby is ready to come. So i'm kind of excited ;).

What you missed...

I've been procrastinating writing this blog because I have SO much to catch up on. And since my memory is poop, i'll try my best to remember all I can.

Since my last post was about taking the 3 hour glucose test, I guess I should report that I do NOT have GD. Hooray!

On December 8th (29 weeks) I had my last appointment at the NuMom2be study and got my final ultrasound. All I wanted was a profile picture of my little one, but she wouldn't turn the right way and kept her hand on her face. So we didn't get the picture I wanted. :( (In the pic I posted you are looking at the side of her face, upward angle behind the ear, and she is doing the a-ok sign on her face.

A couple days before Christmas eve George asked me to go ring shopping with him, so we did that. After we left the store he got sad because we couldn't afford a ring right now.

On Christmas Eve me and George went to my parents for an early dinner, than he left to go have dinner with his family and hang out with them, while I hung out with my family. (We couldn't figure out any other way to do it, since we both wanted to do our own traditions :P) Well after about 2 hours he called me wanting to come pick me up... 2 hours before previously planned. So he drove over and called me when he got to the house telling me to come outside, so I walked up the stairs, went to the bathroom, put on my jacket (pretty much saying I kind of took my time) and than went to walk outside. Well when I opened the door George was kneeling there... (it actually really scared me because it was dark, and I just saw a man on the ground haha) well he gave me the cute speech of how we've been dating a long time and he loves me and wants to be with me and than pulled out a ring and asked me to marry him. Obviously I said yes.

Christmas Day we went over to my parents and opened gifts. For my gift I just asked my parents to buy a baby swing, so we got the swing and a popcorn maker and George got a tool set. He loved that. "To be a real man you need your own tool set." So he is now a real man. My parents... or Santa #2 bought Londyn a warm outfit and a mobile for the crib. I loved all the gifts.

Me and George moved in with my parents... well I did first, than George did 2 days later. It was supposed to only be 1 day but everyone in the house I was living got scabies... So I got the hell out of there. haha

On December 30th we got married! It was a very short engagement so it was pretty stressful throwing everything together in 6 days, but we got soo lucky. Adrianne (George's dads girlfriend...)  offered to make the cake and bouquet...and provide decorations, I had Haley johnson do my hair, Brother Brady perform the ceremony, and Shellie (Brooke's sister in law) take the pictures. I was able to get a dress 2(?) days before the 30th and had a neighbor alter the... bosom. Since the dress had to be so big to fit over my belly it was a little too big for my boobies. Steph took me to get a pedicure and manicure before the ceremony as well. So it just all worked out and it turned out beautiful! :) (STILL waiting on the pictures)

New Years eve we had just finished moving mine and George's stuff into the house and we just stayed home for the night. At midnight we ran outside screaming, we didn't feel like hitting pots and pans. So we just kind of ran around.. for a second. (Grandpa also moved into the house, in the room right next to us)

This next week we helped Colby and Krystle move in.

Needless to say everyone was sick of moving.

January 12 me and George went to a prenatal class at the Hospital (Originally George's idea) and he was soo bored he didn't want to go back. He said he didn't learn anything he didn't already know (Which was true.. for me at least)

January 21st (Today) we had a ward baby shower, we had a great turn out... I got a TON of baby clothes.

Miscellaneous things, Today I am 35 Weeks 4 Days Pregnant and this baby is crazy! He kicks/punches?, wiggles (a lot) and gets the hiccups quite a bit. I love having her in my belly because it is such a cool experience... But I want her out. I'm getting close! hooray! I feel so big. Like there is no way my belly can stretch any more... it feels like the skin is ripping. it's awful.

I took this January 7 (33.4 weeks)

I took this 2 Days Ago. (35.2 weeks)

There is not a huge difference, they are just the only pictures on my belly that are easily accessible at the moment.

OH I almost forgot, George got in a car accident tonight. It was our first (real) snowfall and he was driving on a back road in Springville.. his car spun out twice, and ended up facing the other way.. on the other side of the road... well one car dodged him, but the car behind that hit George. He was really sad about it.

Needles.

So I procrastinated taking the 3 hour test until this last tuesday (November 29). I had George come with me even though he really didn't want to.

So this was obviously worse than the 1 hour test, the drink was a lot more sugary and instead of just getting my finger poked I got blood drawn. 4 times.

I did not know that was going to happen, but oh well. At least it's over right? I will get a call with the results later... really hoping I don't have GD.

So is it just me or does it seem like everyone is getting pregnant?

Speaking of which, my little one is crrrazy. She kicks a lot but than sleeps a lot. She turned feet down and started kicking me, I didn't like that very much... I asked her to stop but she didn't listen to me. That must've been pay back for me poking and shaking her all the time. (Not all the time, but enough). I get an ultrasound next Thursday and Im so excited! I love seeing her!
Oh i'm officially in the 3rd Trimester.. hooray!

Fail.

So I took my Glucose test this morning... and I FAILED. My number was 166... I knew something was up after I drank the orange drink and I didn't feel so good... So I have to go back tomorrow for the 3 hour test. I'm so excited! I'm making Stephanie come with me ;) (since george has to work.)

I'll update tomorrow.

Catching up.

Obviously I haven't written since Halloween, so.. i'm catching up. I have a HORRIBLE memory, so let's see what I can actually remember.
Dad decided to take me shopping for maternity clothes (a nice surprise).. So I met up with him at his house at... 10 in the morning, than we went to Target and looked at there stuff. They didn't really have a good selection and there maternity pants were pretty much just as expensive as Motherhood maternity, so we just went there instead. He was so nice and bought me a lot of great stuff!

Than on the 12th Stephanie and Ilce planned a "friends" baby shower. (The family and ward showers will be in January/February) About 13-15 people RSVP'd that they would come, but there was 7 people who showed up. I was kind of bummed, but excited that some of my friends could make it! They got me some cute stuff, I am always excited to get new gifts... for Baby. :) Things I got: Diapers, wipes, toys, shoes, headbands, clothes, &shampoo. It was great.

I decided I was too excited and couldn't wait any longer to get the crib. So me, Steph and mom went to Walmart and got it! When I came home with it George was like "what? I thought you weren't getting it today"... but I did. So me and him set it up, it felt like it took forever but it looks so great, I love it! The only problem is, it's pretty empty. It needs some more stuff, so I can't wait till i can actually get some more stuff for it!

George's birthday is Next week (Black friday) and I don't know what I am going to do! I don't have any money to get him anything... I feel so lame. (Which is also a problem for Christmas) So i'm a bit stressed. Any ideas on cheap or homemade things that aren't too lame?

I put on my old footsie pajamas I got forever ago in the little boy section of target, and I still fit! =P..

Me and Steph had gone to hobby lobby and arranged some blocks to spell Londyn. I think they look cute, after I showed George that, he told me I can spell it however I want, he just wants her name to be Londyn. :)
